Well, you have a lot of time. And it partly depends on your goals for the race. Will you be back in school in the Fall? What will you do about training then? It would be nice if you had a solid base of 20 - 25 miles per week, with a long run of 8 miles or more. Then find a half-marathon training plan that fits your fitness and your goals. Most are about 12 weeks long so you would start it in October. As for diet, if you are eating a good, balanced diet, you don't really need to change anything. You may want to experiment with sport drinks and/or gels on your long runs. For the race itself, you can expect a lot of excitement, and early start (5:30 AM) and a fun race through the Magic Kingdom and Epcot, with lots of Disney characters and CMs (cast members) cheering you on.
