Hi, I am no expert, but I want to emphasize that you should not be taking your ibuprofen before you run, especially for long distance!!! (Can damage your kidney's, among other things). I was going to attempt a Half Marathon with a very sore and pulled calf muscle and was contemplating ibuprofen before hand, when a marathoner/nurse and also a cousin (MD) advised me of this. (BTW, I did the run/walk with the injury and did not so bad for a wanna be runner Image may be NSFW.
Clik here to view.) Also, if you are taking it to dull your ache you could end up doing more damage without realizing it.
Also, on the eating day of... nothing or bagel or wheat bread with some peanut or almond butter and honey... so yummy and you get your carbs and a little fat...
