New to running, doing C25K, literally started from the couch - Sharing the Progress

Yes, I started from no execise at all in like the past 10 years. I rode the bicycle to work fo 2 years covering 2km one way, back in 2006 and 2007, but thats it. I do walk and lift stuff at work fairly regularly, but no exercises. And keep in mind that the 2.04 miles at the start includes 5 minutes warmup-walk and then are 60 seconds of running and 90 seconds of walking. So effectively I ran like 0.7 miles or something in total? So not really a lot.

Your injuries got me thinking and made me more aware of what hurts where and when, but so far I think all is good. I stuck to the plan most of the time and did not differ a whole lot overall. By now I do more, but then again I just completed week 8. Speaking of which, here is this weeks numbers:

W8D1: 0.45mi warmup-walk, 5k in 25:11 minutes, 8:05 min/mile, 0.45 miles walk home (felt really exhausted, was glad I was done, definitely need to slow down for longer distances)

W8D2: It rained like **** all day, so I changed the plan: 1.96 miles in 15:31 minutes, 7:55 min/mile, I ran in intervals 7min/mile and 9-10 min/mile (quite exhausted, but also annoyed by the rain)

W8D3: 0.45mi warmup-walk, 7k (4.36mi) in 41:08 minutes, 9:26 min/mile, 0.45 miles walk home (I decided to go slower but longer, felt rather good, I think I can do the 7k a bit faster, or more distance at that pace)

And with that done, have a good weekend everybody. I will begone over the yearchange, but have the intention to run at my friends neighbourhood too!

Thomas
